Maggie Grace was born Margaret Grace Denig, September 21 in 1983. Maggie Grace is an American actress best known for her role as Shannon Rutherford in ABC TV series Lost. Maggie Grace, originally from Worthington located in Ohio dropped out high school in order to move into Los Angeles after her divorced parents. It was a struggle to get by when she got her first role in acting in Rachel's Room's main character. Following her win of a Young Artist Award in 2002 due to her role as Murder in Greenwich of 15 year young Martha Moxley as a murder victim, she went on to take home the award. Grace Rutherford played Shannon Rutherford for Lost's first two seasons of 2004 as well as sharing the Screen Actors Guild Award (with other cast members) alongside her. The show ended in 2005 and Grace would like to be more prominently in film having been cast as the opposite of Tom Welling in The Fog in 2005. She starred as Kim Mills opposite Liam Neeson (both in Taken 2008) as Suburban Girl as well as the Jane Austen Book Club. Taken 2 (2012), Taken 3 2014 and Taken 4 (2014) were her reprises of the roles. Grace played Shannon on the finale and in two additional episodes. She also appeared in the sixth series of Californication. She plays Faith as an admirer and muse to the actors. Hank Moody as played by David Duchovny falls in love with her. She's a Gyllenhaal, the daughters of Stephen Gyllenhaal (director) and Naomi Achs (producer), she is a bit older that Jake Gyllenhaal. The career of her mother began when she was a teenager with small roles in several films that her father directed. In addition, she was a part of her brother on the 2001 famous movie Donnie Darko. Her next roles were in Adaptation Confessions of a Dangerous Mind, both 2002 and Mona Lisa Smile (2003). Gyllenhaal received critical acclaim for both her performances as the main character actress in Secretary (2002), an erotic romance drama drama and Sherrybaby (2006). In 2006, she received a nomination from the Golden Globe Award. The year 2006 was the time she had numerous commercially successful movies including World Trade Center. However, it was her role in the role of Rachel Dawes that brought her more attention with The Dark Knight (2008). The year 2009 was the time she received a nomination for the award of Best Supporting Actress at the Academy Awards for her role of a single mom in Crazy Heart. Her subsequent roles include Nanny McPhee as well as the Big Bang and Hysteria. Her other roles are as an agent of the Secret Service in White House Down 2013 as well as a singer in Frank 2014 and also the role of a teacher in The Kindergarten Teacher 2018, where she is the lead role. In 2021 Gyllenhaal has made her scriptwriting and directing debut in the psychological thriller The Lost Daughter for which she was awarded an award at the Venice International Film Festival's Best Screenplay Award and was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Adapted Screenplay.
